Description
Pepper grows on a shrub like plant and there are four colours that are harvested by hand. Black being the most common, red and white peppercorns are hand sorted and therefore much more sought after as they have unique flavour differences and due to their scarcity are correspondingly more expensive. The green peppercorns are harvested and used in local cuisine but as they are a fresh product they do not travel well and are not widely available in North America or Europe.
